Ah. It’s finally here.

As of last Monday Bitchute now has it’s own integrated commenting system dubbed “CommentFreely”. A bit wordy if you ask me, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction; that direction being away from Disqus. It had to be done – Bitchute’s reputation as a wild-west free speech site hung in the balance, and I applaud them for making the effort.

Let’s go ahead and get the obvious out of the way; yes, CommentFreely still has a ways to go. New comments don’t load in real-time, there’s no dislike function, there’s no image posting except from places like gify.com and shit, and there’s no formatting your comment to your liking. If you are a word-smith like myself, sometimes those line breaks and italics are necessary for proper conveyance. But I’m willing to overlook all of this for now because this brave new comments-section is still in early development. And so long as it is – Jon, I hope you’re listening – I have some suggestions.

I get that images will throttle load speed for pages, but honestly that was one of the best things about Disqus before it went hard-left for that commie-cock. But there are ways around that. Popular image boards pre-load smaller thumbnails and need to be clicked on to be viewed in their entirely, I think that’s a good idea.

Also, you need downvotes. Sometimes it’s not enough to just ignore someone, sometimes you just got to let them know.

I also like the idea of being able to click on a commenter’s username and being directed to their profile so you can see their videos. Would be a big help for lesser known creators like myself. And while I’m not really much of an advocate for this kind of thing, it might be a draw to get people to contribute monetarily to Bitchute if a user’s profile avatar has a membership icon with their subscription tier on it. They wouldn’t get anything beyond that, but you know how people like to show off and if it puts more money in Bitchute’s coffers, I’d say go for it.

And those are what I’ve got. If you guys have more, please post them below. You never know who might be reading them. I really like the sorting function and the way it just blends into the page. As far as bare-ass naked skeletons of programs go, CommentFreely is looking good so far. So I’d ask those of you who wish it were something more to please take a fucking chill pill or two. They’re working on it. And for those of you who crowed about how Bitchute was cucked and caved to censorship, I told you so.
