Let's look at this logically. It's been 174 years since Edgar Allan Poe died, all witnesses are dead, the crime scene has been wiped clean of evidence, and there is no evidence left to go over because no autopsy was done. All we have left are is news articles which I deem to be only somewhat accurate (even back then fake news was rampant), and the personal accounts of others, which isn't much better. Remember, eyewitness accounts are the worst kind of evidence that you can have. With that said, let's begin.

At the time of his death, Edgar was a 40-year-old Caucasian, who had gambling debts, had an alcohol addiction, and was the perfect picture of the starving artist stereotype (only sold his works to make money). Did people want him dead? I'm sure. Was he a known figure? I'm sure he was, since he was a known author, especially in his own town where he was found. Remember, this was before the internet and social media. To become known and sell your work, you had to become known and network the old-fashioned way: get out and get to know people.

Now, in the area that he was found in, was an area that was full of pubs. In fact, he was found near a favorite pub that's still standing today and still in operation. "The Horse You Rode In On" pub in Baltimore, Maryland. He was found wearing clothes that didn't fit him, and it was obvious that they didn't belong to him. During this time an election was going on (put a pin in this, we'll come back to this later), and he was "found babbling nonsense next to an unnamed pub and taken to a hospital". Says one article. He did manage to tell them the name of his friend who came to get him, who then took him to the Washington College Hospital. Shortly after, Edgar died. The date was Oct. 13, 1849.

Remember that election that I spoke about? Let's go back to that. The year was 1849. An uneven year, so I can tell you that it wasn't a presidential election year, it was local elections. Also, looking at the offices up for election (partial perhaps), It showed the delegates (House of Representatives) and Senate for the state of Maryland. Now, who were heavily involved in these elections? The teamsters and the bars. You go to the bar to cast your vote, the bar gives you a free beer. Going on as well at this time was cooping. This is how the teamsters cheated. Anytime you have a big organization, it ALWAYS gets corrupted.

What is cooping? Cooping is where an organization would kidnap someone, drug them or get them drunk, take them to the polls, make them vote for the candidate that they want, then change their clothes take them to a different poll and make them vote again. Ballot stuffing. Now, who's famous for that? We all know the answer for that with all the drop box states... Anyway, This is likely what happened to Edgar being found in someone else's clothes babbling... Cooping may have been the culprit for this.

The COD (Cause Of Death)? Being found babbling, not himself? Sounds like he was drunk combined with alcohol poisoning is my hypothesis. Or just plain alcohol poisoning is another hypothesis. The articles I've found didn't say much, "found in a ditch" doesn't say anything either. Was he standing? Sitting? Laying down? In the end, everything has left more questions than answers, but I think my hypothesis about Cooping and one of the CODs is possibly the best answers out there.

Yes, I, the author, will say it: It is quite possible that the left-wing / Democrats had something to do with Edgar Allan Poe's death at least remotely because of their links to the teamsters.

I haven't included sources. I know that my readers are intelligent enough to deep-dive research and find the sources that I've used for this post.
