No Rush

I don't normally bring up celebrity deaths on this show – I can probably count the number of celebrities I care about on one hand – but Rush's death struck me as a bit more newsworthy than most.
So what can I really say about Rush Limbaugh? I was never really a fan of the guy; I listened to his show a half-dozen or so times out of curiosity back in 2018 and 2019. If nothing else he wasn't spouting the same bullshit as the Circle Jerk Media that people, for some reason, pay a monthly cable plan for. Though I'd certainly say that is was, at times, bullshit of a different flavor for a different crowd. I'm not a partisan so I'm not about to say that everything's a lie on one side and true on the other, that's a very easy trap to fall into these days, but I won't have it. That being said, I also recognize that the backing of the mainstream bullshit is massively skewed toward a...counter-clockwise bent, so right-of-center commentary tends to get a pass from me in this particular epoch.
If nothing else I could appreciate Rush's ability to speak off-the-cuff – indicating an intricate understanding of myriad subjects; a trait that separates the Chad talk show hosts from the Virgin news anchors that read everything off of a teleprompter and are essentially rich finger-puppets. And the bumps he had play in between his sessions were, I dare say, funny at times. And anyone who knows me understands that the fastest way to grab my attention and a modicum of my respect is to make me laugh.
So while I can't bring myself to get all teary eyed over the guy like I did for Billy Mays, it just felt appropriate to dedicate a quick segment to him. Anyone whose death is celebrated by so many verified Twitter users larping as journalists can't be all bad.
Rest in Pasta, Rush. May you return to this world as, like, I don't know, a pterodactyl or something. That's be pretty sweet.
