  • GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY
    DAILY DEVOTIONAL
    TEDIOUS TASKS
    READ NUMBERS 3:1 THROUGH 4:49
Amber gulped her coffee, finished her devotions, and launched into another busy day. Driving children to and from school, planning meals, cleaning house, and a dozen other tasks awaited her. Hours later, she sat folding a mountain of laundry on the living room sofa. She reflected upon her life and said quietly, “I am matching these socks for you, Lord.”

The Lord spoke again to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai. He said, “Record the names of the members of the tribe of Levi by their families and clans. List every male who is one month old or older.” So Moses listed them, just as the Lord had commanded (Numbers 3:14–16).

Amber’s tasks may not seem very spiritual or exciting, but she was honoring God even in the mundane areas of life. Likewise, counting the males in the clan of Levi must have seemed dull for Moses, but he got the job done. Colossians 3:23 tells us to put our whole hearts into our daily efforts as we work for the Lord. Both exhilarating moments and tedious tasks are opportunities to serve Him.

Challenge for Today: In the midst of your activities, acknowledge God today.

  • Whoopi Goldberg incensed because Sesame Street character didn't "high five" two little black girls --- Parents and lawyers jump on the gravy train to cry "racism" when the truth is more mundane, with costumes severely restricting the visual field .......... The character simply couldn't see them!

I confess that some days I wake up in total disbelief.
Did I just wake up from a nightmare? And then it hits me; no, we are living the nightmare.
How can all this be happening? The most horrific genocidal campaign is unfolding as I write these words, and half of the population, maybe more, is completely oblivious to it! Just this notion accelerates my heartbeat. Not only that, there are millions of people collaborating in this genocide; nurses, doctors, police, soldiers, civil servants, teachers, professors, reporters, politicians....many of them are aiding and abetting in this horrendous crime against humanity.
How can this be?! We have become our worst enemy! The sheep themselves are pushing us to the slaughter house! And now my heart is beating faster and faster and my head feels like it’s about to explode!!!
But I’ve learned to close my eyes... and I take a long deep breath...
The words ‘Dear God...’ are spoken in my head almost automatically, and the dialogue starts; I promise our Creator that I will continue to do whatever is in my power to assist in this fight against evil and to try and ‘save’ as many lives as possible.
I thank him for his continued guidance and inspiration and remind him that I wish only to be of service.
As I take another long breath, I feel my heartbeat has decelerated and my head no longer spins.
I have come to the realisation that those that don’t make it are souls he is taking back with him. They were not ready for the transition but they will come back at some other stage. I am reminded that we must understand beyond worldly matters and see the greater universal picture that is unfolding.
This is a spiritual war, way beyond the mundane, and the only way to survive it is to trascend the physical and find the power of our souls.
I can now start my day with renewed strength, hope and optimism. We have the inner tools to cope with anything, we must just remember we have them and cultivate them on a daily basis.
I welcome this new day as a new chance to do something good, to be of service, to give of the love and the energy that God gave me. I now have a big smile on my face! Bring it on! I am ready!

  • Her car is parked in our lot. 8-27-21

It’s so mundane. Simple. But it’s there.

My very best friend, my person, my sister forever. My other half. We were boots together, Corporals together, & then Sergeants together. Roommates for over 3 years now, from the barracks at MOS school to our house here. We’ve been attached at the hip from the beginning. I can’t quite describe the feeling I get when I force myself to come back to reality & think about how I’m never going to see her again. How her last breath was taken doing what she loved—helping people—at HKIA in Afghanistan. Then there was an explosion. And just like that, she’s gone.

Then bad people do bad things, and all of a sudden, the peaceful float you were on turns into you going to Afghanistan & for some, never coming back. It turns into your friends never coming home.

Her car is parked in our lot.

For a month now, it’s been parked in our little lot on Camp Lejeune at the Comm Shop where I work. I used it while my car was getting fixed & I just haven’t gotten around to bringing it back to our house. I drove it around the parking lot every once in a while to make sure it would be good for when she came home. So many Marines have walked past it, most of them the newer generations of Marines, our generation of Marines. The same Marines who often feel so distant from the war stories their bosses tell them about. I’m sure they thought nothing of it—just a car parked in a parking spot. Some of them knew her. Some of them didn’t. But they all saw her car. They all walked past it. The war stories, the losses, the flag-draped coffins, the KIA bracelets & the heartbreak. It’s not so distant anymore.

Her car is still there, & she’s gone forever.

I love the first photo. We climbed to the top of sugar cookie in 29 one Saturday morning a few years ago to pay our respects. I snapped the picture on my camera. I never would’ve thought her name would be on a cross like those one day. There’s no way to adequately prepare for that feeling. No PowerPoint training, no class from the chaps, nothing. Nothing can prepare you.

My best friend. 23 years old. Gone. I find peace knowing that she left this world doing what she loved. She was a Marine’s Marine. She cared about people. She loved fiercely. She was a light in this dark world. She was my person.

Til Valhalla, Sergeant Nicole Gee. I can’t wait to see you & your Momma up there. I love you forever & ever.

  • Has anyone ever thought about how big of pussies the United States must look right now to other countries? Are we going to be surprised when their is a terrorist attack on our soil again and other countries will ask "Why didn't you see it coming? Why didn't you say anything?" Haven't you been bragging how the US is the toughest and strongest country in the world, but our minds have gotten over thrown by an orange business man and insane Muppet characters? Pretty strong stuff. And that we listen to celebrities who sing and dance and rape children for our life advise and views? That we are afraid to even talk to our neighbor? That is some of our brains the only defense is to take our families and hide in a cave just as long as "you" survive? Way to go pussies. Kiss my ass if this describes you. Have something to say, say it. Free speech is all or nothing. Your not fucking important. Quit telling others how to live. And any and all religious icons can suck my microscopic, mundane, lackluster, non memorable, dick. And as they are doing it, just know that I'm smiling right at you! Happy Saturday Xephula!
