For my fellow sci-fi geeks, nerds and technophiles... TYRANT STAR Lore: In the TYRANT STAR universe, there's two types of Hyperdrive, and while they are extremely similar, there are some small differences that do stand out. The Hyperdrive employed by the Confederation and Empire is pretty normal, requiring a 'run-up' in Real-space to gain the velocity/inertial state to enter Hyperspace. As shown in the included 'STAR WARS' relevant pics. The second type, which is employed only by the K'Syth Imperium is one that has a very different method of entering Hyperspace, as shown by the non-STAR WARS releveant pics. Apart from entry and exit hyperspace is travelled the same way for both types, that is unchanged. However, while the 1st type does allow Hyper-Ram as a tactic (however such is extremely difficult to achieve) the 2nd type means that entry cannot be 'blockaded' and arrivals can be pin-point accurate...allowing significant tactical and strategic advantage. However...such advantages are balanced out by the very distinctive arrival/departure flash. How It Works; To enter Hyperspace, an object must achieve Lightspeed which is the 'threshold/gateway' velocity/inertial state to enter Hyperspace. The K'Syth Hyperdrive dispenses with the 'acceleration run' by compressing and amplifying inertial energy/forces meaning the ship can jump to Hyperspace without an acceleration run. During exit it works in reverse, completely absorbing and dissipating the inertial forces to bring the vessel back to Realspace with the same velocity/inertial state it had originally before the trip through Hyperspace. What makes TYRANT STAR different from STAR WARS?? Well, for one thing female characters are FEMININE without sacrificing anything instead of being modern-day mouth-running Mary-Sue types. They dress better too. Male characters are very serious ass-kickers, but well-mannered, even gentlemanly and some small actions of chivalry enter the picture now and then. Once you forcibly open a sealed-shut blast-door, it's only proper you invite your female companion to go first....it's just good manners. ...and scores points with her. This universe IS more 'adult' than STAR WARS. TYRANT STAR is not about a plucky rebellion. It's about three galactic civilizations opposed to each other over ideologies, philosophies and history. It's bigger and broader in scale, set in a truly Ancient galaxy with many secrets, mysteries and unknown histories. It is NON-Allegorical. It follows in Tolkien's footsteps in that it has it's own history and such, it is in NO way a commentary on the real-world AT ALL. Other folks do Allegory, so it's covered, and I find allegory to be not to my tastes as well as interferes with true escapism for the audience. Book One is on sale now at the link below and Book Two continues to steadily approach it's Publication date as the editing progresses day by day. Book Two introduces some new characters, worlds and opens things up about what life is like outside of all the actiony-goodness. Luke had it 'easy' on Dagobah. lol Book Two of course stokes galactic events to a higher flame as War inevitably and unstoppably grows closer.
