- THIS IS COMMUNISM ...
The Prime Minister has announced he is going to pass a Federal “Renters’ Bill of Rights”….. A first year law student would be able to tell you that Federal Parliament does not have the jurisdiction to do that constitutionally, and that the power to create rights for renters rests solely with the Provincial Legislatures under s.92(13) of the Constitution Act, 1867 regarding “property and civil rights”. Each Province has provincial legislation that creates renter rights already, including residential tenancy statutes and consumer protection statutes. This proposed legislation, unless it is optional for the Provinces to opt in, will get struck down. If it’s optional, it’s entirely unnecessary and quite pointless. Also, how about fix the problem regarding most being unable to afford to buy a home? Nothing this Government has done has made anything cheaper for Canadians ....
TRUDEAU is now introducing a renter "CREDIT SCORE" and will control what landlords charge for rent??? What happened to our free market and democracy ... Do we live in China now? This is COMMUNISM!
