Where've I been? I have two books written. One is done editing, now I just need to figure out whether to go with a normal publisher, or publish it myself. The second is in editing, and coming along reasonably-well as I continue making the editing passes, adding details, fixing mistakes, smoothing out areas that read 'clunky' and tend to be jarring/break the reader's 'flow of enjoyment'...I dunnow what else to call it. The first is Lovecraftian, and pulls NO punches, at all. it's NOT 'hyper-gore' and such, that's not Lovecraftian, but there's experiences the two main characters have that don't soft-shoe the horrific nature of what's happening. The second is more conventional scifi, some sex scenes but nothing excessive and they're not gratuitous. I will state that neither are in any way 'Woke'. Not dead. Just entirely focussed on writing a book. It's Cosmic Horror, Lovecraftian. Pretty sure the Alphabet crowd will want to kill me for it as the main characters are WHITE, Hetero and Married happily. All MAJOR sins/crimes in this modern-era psycho circus. Obviously this book is 100% NON-Woke. I Do Not Do 'Woke'. EVER...apart from using it to show how ridiculous it really is. This work is Hardball Cosmic Horror. It's NOT the cotton-candy kid's-stuff S. King writes. I'm working on telling it as proper story as most Cosmic Horror/Lovecraftian works are 'shorts' or Novellas. I am taking notes on 'how to tell a story' from Tolkien in regards to detailing, depth of world-building, making characters come alive. I am NOT Tolkien of course, but he was a Master storyteller, and learning from such an Author is not a bad thing. This is not a 'one-off' as much as I thought it'd be. A whole universe has grown out from it, giving me room to roam in the future and shared-continuity works. I've also been learning about creating AI Art. Occasionally normal people come up with a jem. I got to sit in on the original screening for this in a friggin barn in Northern Sacramento. I think they liked that I watched out for them during the Anime / Import Car show (Decepti - Kon). Of course it wasn't a blockbuster but shit. The blockbusters don't usually have any soul. This one had Lovecraftian Monsters, South Central and full on Blaxploitation mixed in with that cheezy 80s vibe. Bad Assed Monster Killa.
