Michigan Incentivizes Landlords to Rent to Illegal Aliens Instead of Americans
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) is incentivizing landlords to rent properties to illegal aliens over low-income Americans. Just when you thought the Democrat Party’s insults against heritage Americans couldn’t get any worse. Whitmer is paying landlords a monthly stipend in taxpayer funds for every illegal alien they rent to, in hopes of luring even more invaders to her purple state. The strategy seems to be working. At least one American woman has already been murdered by an illegal alien receiving Whitmer’s rent subsidy.

Whitmer has even given the program an Orwellian name—the Newcomer Rental Subsidy. She calls the illegal invaders “newcomers” because it just sounds so welcoming. You have to wonder what the voters are going to think about this program come November. A lot of people don’t realize it, but Michigan is now the state being flooded with the fourth-highest number of illegal aliens, trailing California, Texas, and New York. Maybe it’s because welfare-for-invaders programs like this one are incentivizing more of them to come.

Under the Newcomer Rental Subsidy, landlords can now get $500 per month in guaranteed taxpayer funds for each illegal alien they rent to. If you rent a three-bedroom apartment to a fake “family” of five, you get $2,500 a month. The cash is guaranteed and backed by the Michigan taxpayers.

How does this incentivize landlords to rent to illegals? If you rent to an American family and they can’t come up with the rent, that creates a problem for you. If you rent to the illegals, you’re guaranteed cash that the taxpayers have to pony up. This is just one more example of illegal aliens being treated better by the Democrats than American citizens.

To qualify for the program, the illegals must be designated as refugees, special immigration visa holders, victims of human trafficking, Cubans, Haitians, Afghan nationals, and Ukrainian humanitarian parolees. The Biden regime helps out with this by designating every illegal alien who breaches our southern border as a “refugee,” even though none of them fit the legal definition of that term under US or UN designation rules.

Amy Hovey, Whitmer’s director of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, says, “This program is truly a win-win, as it addresses the most pressing barrier to refugee resettlement by meeting housing needs while setting up families for success with increased employment and opportunity.”

A win-win for who? Not for the American taxpayers certainly, or the low-income Americans struggling to keep up with paying their rent under Joe Biden’s hyperinflation.

One of the illegal aliens who was receiving Whitmer’s rental assistance was Brandon Ortiz-Vite, from Mexico. President Trump’s administration deported Ortiz-Vite back in 2020. He’s back in the US now he enrolled in Whitmer’s Newcomer Rental Subsidy. The rent welfare program was probably part of the reason why he traveled from Mexico back to Michigan.

That’s too bad for a 25-year-old American woman named Ruby Garcia. Ortiz-Vite allegedly car-jacked her, shot her, and left her dead body on US 131 in Grand Rapids. He’s been charged with felony murder, open murder, carjacking, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony use of a firearm.

He’s not getting that $500-a-month in rental assistance as one of Gretchen Whitmer’s “Newcomers” now. He’s sitting in jail, and fortunately, prosecutors in Grand Rapids are holding him without bail.

Ortiz-Vite snuck back into the country at some point in the last three years and did not have any of the special designations that are required for “immigrants” to sign up for Whitmer’s rent welfare subsidy. The Michigan state government signed him up for it anyway.

  • In case anyone might be wondering why I am not making any contributions (financial or otherwise) lately, I was unceremoniously booted from my apartment of the last two years a couple of weekends ago, having until then failed to find new employment... Long story short, having already secured a fresh D-10 visa before being kicked out, I returned to where it all started and with the help of a little (and very good) lady friend there, signed a residence contract at a local officetel, where I am now ensconced, looking for a new job.

Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible...

  • So... last Saturday I was turfed out of my apartment of two years because I still hadn't found a job and had nowhere to go, but the landlady still wanted to give the apartment to the guy upstairs that she had promised it to, because she knew I was leaving... and because it was so small, with all my furniture, books etc., keeping it clean was a major endeavour. This is one of the things that I discovered very early about living here - small places are cheap, but the lack of space makes cleaning difficult.

Ironically, after getting a different visa and relocating half way across the peninsula (at some expense, believe it!!!), I am now in a large one-room officetel in a relatively old building, and what a surprise! The floor is filthy and the bathroom is taking time to clean.

Not much to complain about, really, as despite its size, it has probably the lowest rental price in the last eight years. However, it had clearly (like other previous places) been vacant for enough time to have lots of dirt trailed in by estate agents and dissatisfied customers. My second place in Daegu was so filthy that it took literally two weeks of washing the floors with acid bleach to get them clean, and it looks like this place is pretty similar. One learns the virtue of persistence... especially as a friend here found a great used refrigerator for me online last night, negotiated a reduction and the seller is due to deliver it here in about two hours.

Anyway, after a number of distractions yesterday (Friday), I got my 3D printer reassembled today and it looks like it is working fine... owing to the open plan and a lack of curtains, I cursed myself for forgetting those door-mounted towel hooks and resolved to print one so I can undress out of sight in the bathroom...

  • Reiner Fuëllmich Update Following His Arrest
    https://www.europereloaded.com/reiner-fuellmich-update-following-his-arrest/
    16th October Update

“Reiner and his wife lost their passports and visas quite some time ago, and needed to get them replaced. As they have been staying in Mexico, this led to their needing to go to the German embassy in Tijuana, Mexico. The first time they went, on Monday, they needed to come back. Dagmar was already uneasy, but everything seemed all right translated.

A time was arranged, for Friday, for them to pick up the documents. So the embassy knew exactly when they would be arriving. When they went back on Friday, Reiner’s wife got her documents and was allowed to go. Reiner was arrested. He had nothing with him, only the clothes he was wearing. No toothbrush, even.

A warrant for his arrest had been issued in March. A second warrant was issued in May. One was from Germany and the other from the EU. Obviously, he was not informed. As Reiner was in Mexico, which is outside the jurisdiction of the EU, the warrants could not be enforced. So there needed to be a way to get him onto German soil. Reiner’s needing a new passport and visa gave those who wanted him arrested the perfect opportunity. When he entered the embassy on Friday, there were 6 men waiting to detain him, take him to the airport, and escort him to Germany.

The charges, as Dagmar found out when she had the official papers opened, were 30 pages long – so this was something carefully planned and executed. They related to allegations of Viviane Fischer, a former team member on the Corona Committee, about financial wrongdoing. “Three people signed the charges against Reiner. Perhaps the craziest aspect of the charges is that the money Reiner allegedly took is in the bank account (or anyway, was in the bank account) of one of the 3 people.”
