Another thing to be frank about: Corporations really don't care as much as they claim to. Even in the best of times, all they care about is money. All of their consumers and employees are nothing but numbers in a greater aggregate that is often prefixed with a dollar sign (or pound, or euro, or yen, or even renminbi). The only moral imperative of corporations and the fatcats that run them is to make money and, furthermore, make a profit.

You might see all this PR boilerplate being put up by such corporations as Disney, McDonald's, Sony, Amazon, etc., professing their support for the Black Lives Matter movement or whoever else is aggrieved at the time. Whether you agree with what they're saying, or you wish to boycott them, that's on you. But the real take-away is to take those messages with a grain of salt. All their PR claptrap is really saying at this point in time is "Please don't hurt us, but please keep giving us money."

If you have any doubts as to the true motivations of corporations, then remember what the tight-clawed restaurateur Mr. Krabs from "Spongebob Squarepants" said to a television news reporter: "I Like Money."
