  • Happy Friday the 13th. Pet a black cat! And for everything holy, please don't hurt them. Yes, I'm speaking to the younger generation.

  • Once upon a time, a dude called Pope Gregory IX hated cats A LOT, especially black cats. He considered them the "incarnation of Satan."

He hated them so much that he instructed the Catholic Church's propaganda arm to demonize them to the public, which led to the mass slaughter of cats across Europe for decades.

And what do you think happens when there are no cats around to chase after rats? Rats started having orgies. Their populations skyrocketed, spreading disease and making the black plague possible, killing an estimated 75 to 200 million people (according to the history books that are mostly fiction).

And until today, black cats are associated with bad luck in the western world.

The moral of the story is: all pandemics and plagues are manmade, and they're all orchestrated by those in power.

And don't be a cat-hater, or else bad things will happen.
