We are all Hybrids.
Not too long ago, some breeders combined a Loin and a Tiger. Creating the first Liger. Which is far larger than its parents. This isn't the only hybrid man has made. A mule is what you get when you combine a donkey and a horse. We have had these hybrids around since the early days of human domestication of the two animals.
These are only two examples by the way. There are far more. Also with transgenic becoming used more and more. We now have goats with spider DNA which is used to produce spider silk in their milk so we can make this powerful silk on an industrial scale.
This used to be called gene-splicing, but I digress.
Either through science or just putting the two different animals together and letting then what come nature is still hybridization.
Hybrids are possible if the two species are close enough to find each other attractive enough to breed also they have to be close enough in the tree to have the same number of chromosomes to have a successful pregnancy in order to even have an offspring.
Now you may think these hybrids are sterile and a dead end. This is not true. Mules for instants can't breed with a horse or a donkey. This is true. However, they can breed with other mules and have offspring. and Ligers can also breed with its host species and produce offspring. I'm not sure how I'm not a geneticist. My theory is as with most scientists in these fields believe.
This a mechanism in nature that allows for animals that are low in numbers of both parent species allowing them to interbreed to continue their species as one combined animal letting both become a new species. This could be what has always happened thought natural history. By combining the two may also give them a genetic adaptation to give these hybrids an edge long outlasting that branch of life.
That being said do you know the most successful hybridized animal species is?

I'll give you a hint... look in your mirror! Yes, you or more exactly Homo sapiens sapiens (All modern humans today). Now I'm talking about interracial pairings. Negroid (African) Mongoloid (Asian), and Caucasians (Eastern European) for which if your white we are all descended from this group. All these races are human. We aren't a separate species despite what BLM, Democrats, and the Klan would lie to you about.
For you see at the time Homo sapiens came on to the scene there were ten other humanoid species on the Earth at the same time. Over time these groups die out as ours grew in number... or did they? we weren't a massive species and neither were the others.
They were dying out already because the Earth always was changing.
Climate Change has always happened. It is nothing new or to be panicking over. For we were able to be so adaptable because we interbreed with the other hominids gaining their abilities making us able to handle the changes better. Homo erectus, Neanderthal, Denisovan, and even the Hobbits all became one combine animal. Sadly these other groups only make up a small percentage of our genome. But it was enough to help us conquer the Earth.
You may ask why would we even breed with that other hominids?
Look at our males, you don't think for one moment they wouldn't think "I'm going to #$&@ that," If you do think again. Humans are an Omani-sexual species and if we can find some way to hump it we will. Bestiality is a thing you know.

This means this part of the future of our race is more of a question of Who and When.
