The Forgotten Amendment to the Bill of Rights: The 9th Amendment
Government, any level of government cannot just assume powers not granted to it in either the United States Constitution or State constitutions (where applicable). The 9th Amendment essentially says that just because a "Right" has not been identified (enumerated) does not mean that the people (The individual) are not entitled to the personal decision of what they will do. Where did government get the authority to tell someone what to wear? Or get the authority to track ones personal movements or associations? All of this is invoked under the veil of #PublicSafety. How many times does the #Constitution mention "Public Safety" and in which context? In which Article?
Government keeps finding authorities and responsibilities that are not enumerated. Yet the 9th Amendment specifically says that it is the individual, the citizen, NOT government it is who has the choice. The each of us has right to individually decide.
Consider the psychology of the 9th Amendment and the thinking of the Founding Fathers. They demanded this amendment be included before the #Constitution could be ratified. It is the default liberty amendment.
