Eugene Gardner had come all the way from Parker Heights, Texas, to see the USS Ronald Reagan transit the Puget Sound to the base outside Seattle and welcome home his son. The Ronald Reagan arrived for a six-month maintenance at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
