Biden called the incident a "tragedy," emphasizing that Israel's failure to protect aid workers contributed to the difficulty of humanitarian aid distribution in Gaza. "Israel has also not done enough to protect civilians," he added, stressing that the US "repeatedly" urged Israel to avoid civilian casualties. He underlined that Israel's investigation into the incident must be "swift" and its findings made public. "The US will continue to do all we can to deliver humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians in Gaza," Biden concluded.
