The administration of United States President "quietly" approved a new military package for Israel, including bombs and fighter jets, the Washington Post reported on Friday, citing unnamed Pentagon and State Department officials.
The package which is said to have been authorized this week includes over 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK82 500-pound bombs.
The move comes amid Washington's calls on Israel to find an alternative solution to its planned military operation in Rafah in order not to endanger over 1.4 million civilians in the region. However, despite these comments, the US has insisted it supports Israel's efforts to defend itself from Hamas.
