#North_Korea announced on Sunday the opening of its military reconnaissance satellite operations office, according to state media outlet Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). Pyongyang successfully launched its first spy satellite in November and has since reportedly captured images of military facilities and equipment in South Korea, Japan, and the United States. KCNA said the office will act as an "independent military intelligence organization" whose intel will be shared with the North Korean government and military and used as "war deterrence."
