The United States deployed the Ohio-class nuclear submarine to the Middle East amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, the US Central Command revealed in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani warned the US that if it does not secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, it will be "hit hard."

Previously, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met with Hamas' senior political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran to discuss the development of the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. According to Iranian media, Khamenei reiterated his support for the Palestinian people, accusing Israel of committing crimes with the direct assistance of the US.
