Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of committing "war crimes" in the Gaza Strip during his speech at a pro-Palestinian rally held at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on Saturday.

"We will introduce Israel to the world as a war criminal," Erdogan stressed, underscoring that the West is also responsible for the "massacres" in the Palestinian enclave. "You shed tears for those who died in Ukraine, but why do you not speak out for the children of Gaza?" the Turkish president remarked.

There is no defense but an open, vicious massacre going on in Gaza," he added, noting that the overwhelming majority in the United Nations voted in favor of a humanitarian truce in Gaza, with Israel "doomed to be left alone."
