Japan is discussing supplying 155mm artillery shells to the United States to replenish its supplies as it supports Ukraine's defenses against Russia's invasion, according to the report published by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

While the report didn't reveal how many shells Tokyo might supply to Washington, Japan's Ministry of Defense said it hasn't made a final decision yet. Earlier this week, the State Department announced a new $325 million package of military support for Ukraine that includes 155mm artillery rounds.
