GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY DAILY DEVOTIONAL A FAITHFUL SERVANT READ 2 SAMUEL 19:1 THROUGH 20:26 [Barzillai] was very old—eighty years of age—and very wealthy. He was the one who had provided food for the king during his stay in Mahanaim (2 Samuel 19:32). Barzillai was a faithful servant, who provided for the needs of the king and his men while they were fleeing from Absalom, David’s son. After Absalom’s death, David expressed gratitude to Barzillai for his dedication, commitment, and faithfulness. Can you think of anyone in your life who has been faithful and committed to you? Would your family or friends consider you their faithful servant? What would God say about your faithfulness, commitment, and dedication to the things that are important to Him? A true servant is faithful in the good times and bad times. Do you know anyone facing hard times? Today, be a faithful servant to God and help meet the needs of people around you.
