David Brown, the Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department, one of the largest sworn police forces in the nation, tendered his resignation on Wednesday. John Lausch, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois handed in his own only hours later. The resignation of both lawmen came within a few hours of the election defeat of disgraced Chicago Democrat, Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
