Usually by this time of year, the majority of New Year’s resolutions have fallen by the wayside—even ones like reading the Bible, exercising, or spending more time with family. Playing catch-up can work on occasion, but Book of Numbers contains some key insights.
“Say to the people: This is the special gift you must present to the Lord as your daily burnt offering. You must offer two one-year-old male lambs with no defects” (Numbers 28:3).
Both Numbers 28 and 29 outline in detail the sacrifices and activities related to offerings and festivals. The phrase “to the Lord” shows that God has expectations for His people. When making changes, do it unto the Lord for His glory. Your motivation determines your actions. Second, is the word “daily.” This does not mean to do it when it’s convenient. God wants fellowship with all of His children daily.
Challenge for Today: Connect deeply with God today; then do it again tomorrow.
