GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY DAILY DEVOTIONAL APPROACHABLE READ LEVITICUS 8:1 THROUGH 10:20 What does it take to approach God? Is it good intentions? Or a proper effort through some sort of trial and error? Nadab and Abihu discovered that disobedience can be deadly. Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord meant when he said, ‘I will display my holiness through those who come near me. I will display my glory before all the people.’” And Aaron was silent (Leviticus 10:3). Aaron’s sons failed to follow God’s instructions for coming into His presence. They had dishonored Him with unauthorized fire. Whatever their intentions, the result was death. God does not tolerate disobedience. Neither will He tolerate anyone who denies His Son. Jesus declared that He is the gate—the one way to God. No one can approach the Father except through Him. Any other means of approaching God will ultimately end in death and eternal separation from Him. Clothed in Christ and cleansed by His blood, the children of God are able to approach and honor Him.
