GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
GOD-HONORING DECISIONS
READ EXODUS 28:1 THROUGH 29:46
How can a believer be assured he is walking in God’s will? This question concerns every sincere Christian. This is also God’s concern. He longs for people to walk in His ways so their lives are happy, productive, and God-honoring. One piece of the priests’ garments addressed discerning God’s will for the Israelites.

“Insert the Urim and Thummim into the sacred chestpiece so they will be carried over Aaron’s heart when he goes into the Lord’s presence. In this way, Aaron will always carry over his heart the objects used to determine the Lord’s will for his people whenever he goes in before the Lord” (Exodus 28:30).

Inside the chestpiece were two stones called the Urim and Thummim. The priest reached into the chestpiece and chose a stone to reveal God’s will.

Christians don’t wear a specific garment or choose between two stones to make choices, but God has ways to let us know His will. Principles found in the Bible are to be the basis for our choices. The Holy Spirit guides the Christian’s heart and mind.

Thought for Today: Every choice you make has the possibility of changing your life forever.
