FAMILY FEUDS
READ GENESIS 45:1 THROUGH 47:31
Derek and Claire chatted about the sermon on the way home. Derek said, “Pastor Benjamin is right. Life is a fight the enemy wants to win. We can’t let him.”
Their good attitudes lasted until Derek turned onto their street. Claire’s tone changed. “You left the garage door open again. You never shut the garage door!”
Strife invaded the couple’s home, and they ate their Sunday lunch in stony silence.
Joseph knew his brothers and understood all too well the impact family strife could have. After their reunion, he loaded them with provisions.
So Joseph sent his brothers off, and as they left, he called after them, “Don’t quarrel about all this along the way!” (Genesis 45:24).
Is it easy for the enemy to slip in immediately after a spiritual high? People’s human side always seems ready for a fight. Instead of fighting among ourselves, Christians should band together to advance God’s Kingdom and to combat our common enemy.
Challenge for Today: Fight the enemy of your soul, not your loved ones.
