The United States Federal Aviation Administration said in an update that it is still investigating the massive outage on Wednesday that temporarily grounded all domestic flights, but that preliminary work pointed to a "damaged database file" as the likely cause. It added that there is currently no evidence of a cyberattack.

The outage resulted in delays or cancellations of over 10,000 flights, sending airline shares down as well. Both the House Transportation Committee and the Senate Commerce Committee said they will look into the incident, highlighting the vulnerabilities of the air traffic control system and the need for its resilience.
