READ 2 KINGS 11:1 THROUGH 13:25
After Scot’s first week at the coffee shop, his boss gave him the keys to the money drawer. “I know I can trust you, Scot. You have proven yourself to me.”
Laura’s employer praised her at her tenth annual review. “You have always been trustworthy, Laura. I don’t waste a minute worrying about you, because you have always done more than I have asked of you.”
They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty (2 Kings 12:15).
What an amazing testimony these workers were to their employers, the priests. The priests could carry on their own work and rest, knowing responsible people were taking care of business. Those who understand the power of integrity and good stewardship may never reap earthly praises or rewards, but they are a true blessing to God and to others. They may attract more people to Christ than they realize.
Challenge for Today: Determine to be the best steward of every tiny thing that is entrusted to you by God and others.
