Luckily there are quite a few apps that allow for you to bypass your carriers #SMS system using the phones network that are #encrypted from end to end. One of those solutions which makes use of distributed p2p tech is called #Jami https://jami.net/ While Jami is far from perfect, and is still under development. I highly recommend it as a solution to your messaging needs vs. #Signal or #Telegram. I have an account on, and have personally tried all three. Signal and Telegram require your phone number, where Jami does not. You're able to create an unlimited number of accounts on their system. You can do voice, and video calls, share media. It takes care of most everything you could want. It works over DHT(ditributed hash tables) which is the same tech that drives BitTorrent. It reminds me of #Skype before it was bought out by #Microsoft
