THE PATH OF WISDOM
READ GENESIS 40:1 THROUGH 41:57
Norman Borlaug, an unassuming son of Iowa farmers, worked tirelessly at crossbreeding untold thousands of strains of wheat to create high-yield, disease-resistant varieties that would grow in arid, famine-plagued regions. He succeeded, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his pioneering agricultural techniques. But Borlaug did not work alone: he also relied on other scientists from varied disciplines. He studied their research, applied it to his task, and saved a billion people from starvation.
The ancient world faced a catastrophic food shortage, but heeding the wisdom of Joseph helped Egypt survive.
“Now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:33).
Believers face darkness in this life, but the Father doesn’t expect them to just blindly stumble their way through. He has mapped out in His Word a path of wisdom for them to follow. He has also put wise, experienced people in their lives to be godly counselors. Listen to wisdom and follow its path; it is a path that leads to life.
Prayer Suggestion: Father, open my ears to the wisdom I need to hear to live like Christ.
