The Vietnam War is often referred to as "the first television war." Media coverage showed the American public the uncensored reality of war. Seeing the misery and desolation of war shocked the American public. During the 1960s, there was a huge increase in television ownership in American households. Televised news shows became a popular source of information. Video technology was also improving and lightweight portable camera and audio recording equipment allowed journalists to capture the war close-up in never-seen-before detail. Chocked by the gruesome reality of war, civil rights and anti-war movements spread like wildfire in the United States against the military-industrial complex. This awakening in the consciousness of citizens thanks to a free press proved problematic to American politicians and the banking elites who puppeteer them. It was primarily during the Vietnam War that politicians and generals saw television as their enemy. Since then, an orgy of media-consolidation left more than 90% of EVERYTHING Americans watch or read or listen to consolidated in ONLY 5 pro-war corporations: COMCAST, NEWS-CORP, DISNEY, ViacomCBS, and TIME WARNER. And under the guise of protecting the viewers' senses, ANY recording revealing the true nature of the violence committed by the authorities is FORBIDDEN. And that includes social media, of course, like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. That's why independent journalists like myself are being shadow-banned and de-platformed. As of now, I'm banned from 5 social media websites: LinkedIn, Medium.com, Quora.com, taringa.net, and 9gag. THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW THE TRUTH.
