About 20 feet away there was an active freight track and eventually I heard the distant crossing bells and knew a #train would be coming. And when it rumbled past it was pretty alarming. Just the most massive ensemble of power and force that shakes your inner soul. I watched it go by in awe, like a child. I thought I detected that it started slowing down and eventually the tail end of it came to a stop right next to me. It stayed there, the rear #engine idling up periodically for some purpose I could not discern. It sounded like it was getting ready to leave, but didn't.
