• Calif., In the Midst of Yet Another Megadrought, Rejects Desalination Plant Because It Will Kill Marine Life

Yeah, a human being can only survive without water for about 3 days. Eight to 21 days without food. And well, crops need water to grow.

But marine life? Apparently, more important than human life according to the Calif. Coastal Commission. https://bit.ly/3MePSiF

According to Commission's Desalinization "expert", Tom Luster:

    - "The [desalinization] project would kill marine life in about 275 million gallons of seawater per day."

Meanwhile, about 6 million Southern Californians will be required to dramatically cut water use including outdoor watering, permitted just 1x per week. The goal of a 35% reduction will be monitored by the water district. https://abcn.ws/3PnCjzu

A desalinization plant in San Diego County, built in 2015, supplies the county with about 10% of its water needs.
While not the cheapest source of water (about 2-3X the cost of the next cheapest sources), being without it is life threatening.

But hey, what really counts is fish over people since, after all, we are just another evolved animal, no better than a fish or shrimp, right?

The citizens of Calif. can always count on their "expert" leadership to have their best interests in mind.

    - After all, there are illegal border jumpers to provide for from public funds too, ya know. ($23 Billion annually https://bit.ly/3LeWHjb )
