Florida Medical Boards Vote to Draft a Rule Banning Puberty Blockers and Gender Dysphoria Treatments for Minors 18 and Below
Following a 5 hour discussion, with experts and the public expressing their opinions, the Florida Board of Medicine and the state Board of Osteopathic Medicine voted Friday to proceed with a plan that will bar anyone under the age of 18 from receiving sex-reassignment surgery or taking hormones.

Transgender supporter Amy Rachel claims:
- "Some are deliberately spreading misinformation about the transgender community and about the kinds of treatments that are available and given."
Uh, ya mean like the biological reality is that you are born with one of the two genders at birth and changing it involves unnatural and lifelong altering effects?
The boards meet again on November 4 for a final vote on the plan, just before the midterms.
In August, Gov. DeSantis said that doctors who disfigure young children based on gender dysphoria should face legal consequences:
- "They don’t tell you what that is...They are actually giving very young girls double mastectomies, they want to castrate these young boys,"
- "Both from the health and children wellbeing perspective, you don’t disfigure 10, 12, 13-year-old kids based on gender dysphoria, 80% of it resolves anyways by the time they get older...So why would you be doing this?"
Why?
Could be that this is just another way to fracture the family unit while preventing procreation. Just speculating, of course.
