  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939) is a classic American film adaptation of Victor Hugo's 1831 novel. Directed by William Dieterle, the movie is renowned for its lavish production and powerful performances.

Here’s an overview of the film:

    Key Details:
    Director: William Dieterle
    Producer: Pandro S. Berman
    Cast:
Charles Laughton as Quasimodo: His portrayal of the bell-ringer is iconic, capturing the character's tragic mix of physical deformity and inner nobility.
Maureen O'Hara as Esmeralda: This was one of O'Hara's early roles, and her performance as the kind-hearted gypsy dancer is captivating.
Cedric Hardwicke as Frollo: A menacing interpretation of the archdeacon who becomes obsessed with Esmeralda.
Thomas Mitchell as Clopin: The leader of the beggars, adding a layer of intrigue and grit to the story.
    Highlights:
Visual Design: The film is famous for its elaborate sets, especially the reconstruction of 15th-century Paris and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Makeup: Charles Laughton's transformative makeup for Quasimodo was groundbreaking at the time, designed by legendary makeup artist Perc Westmore.
Themes: The story tackles themes of justice, love, social prejudice, and the clash between religious authority and personal morality.
The 1939 adaptation is often regarded as one of the most faithful and emotionally resonant versions of Hugo’s novel. It balances spectacle with a deep exploration of the characters, making it a definitive cinematic interpretation of the classic tale.

  • It has become ever more evident to me that we are to be given a great popular national
Church, whose nature cannot be reconciled with Christianity, and that we must prepare our
minds for the entirely new paths which we shall then have to follow. The question is really:
Christianity or Germanism? And the sooner the conflict is revealed in the clear light of day
    the better.

  • A friend of mine recently told me his wife is suffering from "congenital ovarian cysts."

According to Dr. Eric Berg the cause isn't a congenital condition, it is caused by a trace mineral deficiency; particularly a deficiency in iodine. I am 99.99% sure this is the cure his wife desperately needs, so I emailed him this information.

When I was in my early 20's I had a cyst on my left forearm that concerned me. I went to my Primary Care physician and he told me it was most likely a benign lipoma, or fatty cyst, but he removed it and did a biopsy to be sure. As it turned out, that is exactly what it was. Over the years I developed numerous similar cysts all over my body, and the doctor told me that unless they interfere with muscular movement, not to worry about them. I have one on my left thigh that is now about half the size it used to be a mere 2 months ago. It is barely noticeable. So what did I do that changed it?

I've been following Dr. Eric Berg on YouTube and Rumble and he had a video about Iodine Deficiency. Many of the things that ail us now are due to the deficiency of trace elements that are not in our diets, NOT heredity; and he recommended a dosage of 25,000mcg of Iodine. That is the only thing I have changed in my diet over the past 2 months and now the cyst is less than half the size it was 2 months ago. It is barely noticeable. Also FYI Iodized salt does NOT have enough iodine in it to make a significant difference.

  • The Dangers of Raw Milk: What the FDA Won't tell you
Years before refrigeration was widely available, dairy farmers knew the solution: place a silver dollar in the bottom of your milk pitcher. Silver kills bacteria and viruses within seconds of contact. My own grandmother used this when I was a child and we never got sick from drinking raw milk.

    Milk as Medicine
Since ancient times, physicians like Hippocrates, Galen, Pliny and Varro have used raw milk to cure a wide range of diseases. Hippocrates advised tuberculosis sufferers to drink raw milk in quantity. In the Ayurvedic medicine of India, milk is used in the practice of brimhana meaning to “buck up” or nourish the body. It’s also used in rasayana to rejuvenate the body and in vajikarana, to promote sexual function and fertility. Physicians prescribed raw milk as a gentle laxative, to cool inflammation of ulcerated tissues, and as a galactagogue to increase milk production for the nursing mother. In the U.S., raw milk was used for one hundred fifty years to treat a wide range of conditions and is still used today in some hospitals in European and other countries.

In an 1884 paper read before a meeting of the American Medical Association, Dr. James Tyson provided a short history of the milk cure in Europe. Dr. Inozemtseff of Moscow wrote a book called Milk Cure in 1857, in which he describes the treatment of a thousand cases. In 1864, Dr. Philip Karell read a paper on the milk cure before the medical society of St. Petersburgh. Said Karell: “With regard to my own practice I have, after fruitlessly trying all sorts of remedies in many chronic and obstinate diseases, at last succeeded in bringing the elementary [alimentary] canal, that seat of so many diseases, under my control. I did this by administering milk according to a new method.” In treating digestive disease, liver problems, asthma and other lung disorders, nervous diseases he concluded,"... in all these cases I consider milk as the best and surest of remedies.” Physicians had similar success in Germany and France.

Silas Weir Mitchell, MD, specialist in treating nervous disorders during and after the Civil War, advocated a treatment that consisted primarily in isolation, confinement to bed, dieting, electrotherapy and massage--popularly known as “Dr Diet and Dr Quiet.” Mitchell advocated a high-fat diet to his patients, mostly women, and large quantities of milk. He suggested that his patients consume two quarts or more of milk a day.

  • The Remarkable Life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A Story of Courage and Faith
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German theologian, is a Christian hero for many. Executed by the Nazis just days before the end of WWII for his participation in a plot to assassinate Hitler, Bonhoeffer is hailed as a 20th-century martyr. But Bonhoeffer struggled with a moral dilemma – his religious views were in stark contrast to the evil he saw all around him. He chose to face possible imprisonment and execution and to remain faithful to the principles of his belief in God. Across the political and theological spectrum, Bonhoeffer is celebrated as an icon of true Christianity and his theological writings are classics throughout the Christian world.
