QUESTION:
Indeed. Why is the bottom half of the Sun too far away to see, but the top half is the same angular size it was at midday.
A good question! There is about 42,000 videos on DITRH and others that explain this. It's all in how the eye works. And, at the DECK like this, there is "refraction" which magnifies the sun.
NOT "magical refraction," which elevates objects which should clearly be "behind the earth's curve" to your eye level..... Just simple magnification!
But really all of these subjects are a waste of time.
THERE IS NO "CURVATURE" TO THE EARTH WE STAND UPON!
It's very easily provable with a transit, theodolite, or a laser!
So all other arguments are a DISTRACTION! (In my opinion) We'll argue satellites, field of view, planets and "space" and all kinds of nonsense..... when the entire point is "WHAT is the shape of the EARTH beneath our feet?"
Why not stay ON TOPIC until this simple question is answered?
My man, D Marble speaks on it! SHOW ME THE CURVATURE!
