My school teacher patted my back and I flinched which prompted her to take me to the girls room and found the belt marks. The school called CPS and they came to our house. My mom had already coached us what to say, and the lady never spoke to us in private. The maid served tea and coffee on a silver platter. She said it was obvious we could not be abused in such a lovely home. She said the real abuse was in the low income areas, not Bel Air. People are blinded by money. Having wealth does not preclude one from suffering real abuse. Children can be abused in any house.
