From a Biblical perspective, I always wondered who the Samaritans were, mentioned in the Bible, and why the Jews in Jesus' day hated them. The idea of a good Samaritan, that Jesus used in one of his parables, was an oxymoron as the Samaritans were not good to the Jews.
