Shake, rattle and roll: 4.0 Earthquake felt north of South Dakota's Capital Thursday
This isn't the first time the ground beneath Pierre, South Dakota has shaken. "Earthquakes in divers places" is a phrase from the Bible, Matthew 24:7, which states, "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places". The verse also appears in the King James Version of Luke 21:11, which reads, "And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven".
