I was right when I said that we could not interfere with China's taking of Hong Kong. For one, I knew that, of course, that would cause WWIII. This is common sense.

The less obvious reason is that the D's, DS, and the left-wing were not ready yet to jump into war. And definitely not with their closest ally.

Of course, the people in Hong Kong were crying to Americans to lobby Congress to intervene and send troops. I did not want WWIII. They needed to prepare in advance and fight for themselves.

They had 100 years to prepare for the handover from the Brits to China. That's a long time. They did nothing.
