Railroad Bill, a legend about a turpentine still worker who strolled into town around 1893 with a rifle. A local law enforcement officer stopped him, and asked him to turn over the weapon. According to some versions of the story, there was a struggle over the weapon, and the rifle went off, killing the officer, and he fled hopping on a freight train, hence his name.

His real name was Morris Slater, he was black in the south during when deep prejudice still existed. He became a folk hero. Songs were written about him. The emedded video is one such song.
