Why, thank you, Micro$haft! Thank you for letting me know that there is a new version of Skype to install, which has this utterly pointless "news" panel which gives me endless unwanted news items in the wrong language (with graphics) because it localises me incorrectly because of my VPN... which I have to install as "nodeps" because your shitty installation package calls for a software dependency which is already installed, but cannot be detected. What joy it is, installing your software on my Linux system!

... and you put Bing AI on there, and I didn't even ask for (or want) it! Like, wow!

--- which all just goes to prove that when a large company tries to shoehorn its products into someone else's OS, the result is often crap. It works, but you need to know more about installation with RPM than you really do on M$, and so the paradox is that you become more adept with the former than the latter. Why does the expression "shooting yourself in the foot" come to mind, Micro$haft?

This is ONLY being installed because of the requirement to be able to use Skype routinely with others who are using it. As there are other free service providers who provide similar paid call-out facilities (and who do not require jumping through the hoops of logging in to Skype's web site and negotiating the Daesung payment interface), I can only conclude that competition is a Good Thing.
