Police must be REQUIRED BY LAW to carry liability insurance to protect TAXPAYERS against the lawsuits they incur with false arrests and rights violations. If this were REQUIRED to remain a #Police Officer the corruption would be cured! Insurance companies will NOT continue paying out claims for corrupt officers! They'll first raise rates, and then eventually cancel their policy, leaving them unable to work in Law Enforcement! People's LIVES ARE RUINED when police falsely arrest them or violate their rights to make an arrest! WHY should TAXPAYERS foot the bill for this??? He or she shall also furnish to the City a surety bond in an amount to be approved by the Board of Trustees, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of his or her office.
