Fentanyl overdoses become No. 1 cause of death among US adults, ages 18-45: 'A national emergency' I wonder if ANYONE cares why this is happening??? The government threatened to take the licenses of practicing physicians who in their view "prescribed too many pain pills" to their patients! Now I'm no proponent of giving people addictive pain medications... But I also KNOW that being addicted to pain pills is just like being addicted to HEROIN! A whole lot of people who had been in severe traffic accidents and had a host of other injuries LEGALLY went to "PAIN MANAGEMENT" where they were prescribed pain medications to mange their pain. This may not have been the correct course... But ONCE THESE PEOPLE ARE ADDICTED TO PAIN MEDICATIONS prescribed to them by a physician.... It's a pretty sh*tty thing to do to just cut them off! Especially cutting them off because of POLITICIANS and not doctors! An opioid addict will become terribly ill, and will do ANYTHING to feel better! So many of them turn to street drugs like heroin, which the dealers cut with fentanyl, which causes the overdose deaths! Since this happened the street price of these pain medicines has skyrocketed which prompted the street dealers into "counterfeiting the pills" They will buy a "pill press" and squeeze the pills to look like the real thing! Instead of being a pharmaceutical grade pill however.... You get fentanyl mixed in some inert powder, which has ALSO CAUSED MASSIVE OVERDOSES! I'd like to note here, the government threatened these doctors' licenses for writing prescription pain medicines JUST BEFORE DRUG MAKERS CAME OUT WITH #Suboxone (A drug used to treat opioid dependence) Coincidence??? I doubt it! Suboxone strips were like $20 EACH when they first came out. conveniently just as the doctors were threatened! And they are still pretty expensive! But they are a FAR BETTER CHOICE than using street drugs! Because just about all street drugs these days contain fentanyl!
