Using 'Citizen' and 'Resident' Legally Being a citizen and being a resident aren't exactly the same. If you have ever wondered why the "Rich and Famous" often "Renounce their citizenship" it's because a "Citizen" is THE PROPERTY OF A NATION and that nation can legally impose TAXES and RULES on that person that they otherwise COULD NOT!
