The Wendigo is a mythological creature, also known as a spirit. The Wendigo folklore originated from the First Nations around the East Coast forests of Canada, the Great Plains of the United States & the Great Lakes regions of the U.S. and Canada. It is part of the traditional belief system of the Algonquin-speaking peoples including; Saulteaux, Cree, Innu, Naskapi, and the Ojibwe. The Wendigo is said to be a malevolent entity that has often been depicted as a creature with human-like features that possesses human beings. They have an extreme hunger and desire to eat other humans and commit murders.
