Turns out the protest actually was peaceful. Either the buses full of violent agitators couldn't make it here, or even the leftiest of fruitcakes in this far corner of California mean what they say by "peaceful protest".
Still, some of the live video from the protest was unbearable to watch. It was like watching a cult of zealots and flagellants who nevertheless want to see America reduced to ashes and anyone whose skin is lighter than a manila folder and has politics to the right of Ho Chi Minh under their heel...or worse...

There will be a "peaceful protest" in my rural California town tomorrow. There is nothing to protest here, other than, oh, it's a rural area with a lot of white people.
I don't trust this protest to be peaceful. I don't trust the police to do anything about anything.
I got to eat Chinese food and play the slots at an Indian casino for the first time in months. Places like full-service restaurants and casinos re-opened for business a few days ago, after Ringmaster Newsom and the Sacramento Clown Show had for so long shuttered them for fear of COVID-19. It would be a shame if mobs of angry negroes, Chicanos, and their self-hating white liberal thrall were to destroy all that.
This is Los Angeles 1992 for me all over again.
