You have the powerful Shen and his Sequoia Capital in China and other ventures, the powerful voting machine cartel and Carlyle Capital, but the links between them aren't really shown. They are believable by inference, but not shown. I was looking for more in the article to tie them together. Shen is called the godfather of the internet, but it's not shown why that would be.
