Technology, The Information Age, and Perception: C-001 The First Age of Reason
Humanity has never had access to so much knowledge and so quickly distributed. What made it all possible was the invention of the written word ~5,000 years ago. This invention gave humanity the ability to pass knowledge from one generation to the next rather than relying on the oral tradition. It allowed the purity of the knowledge to be maintained. Thus began the "Information Age". History, Culture, Religion, Agriculture, Science, Philosophy, Education, Astronomy all become more available to more people than previously possible. Yet, today we are all driven by visual and audio stimulus influencing our behavior. The dominance of feelings over reason. Ironic. Fewer and fewer are reading and it seems there is less critical thinking. All we have and take for granted was born of reason.
