Is truth stranger than fiction? Better still, does reality reflect fiction? Or does fiction reflect reality? Is it both? Stephen King wrote a novel called "The Dead Zone". That novel was made into a movie. That movie was adapted into a TV Series. In the second season there is an episode called "Plague" where a virus from China is cured with a malaria drug called Choroquine. It first aired in 2003. Applying "Occam's razor" or just basic reason, it is doubtful that a TV series screenwriter knows anything about infectious diseases. Meaning, they probably consulted with someone with some expertise. The point is to question the quality of information being provided by News Outlets.
