Property tax is an affront to the principals of liberty, and property. It is a vestigial concept carried over from feudalism. In America it made sense originally as it was the price paid for participation in the managing of the state. However, as participation in voting has expanded, now in some cases to foreign entities. This tax is simply a punitive measure, a way to punish success, hindering individuals from freeing themselves from the burden of toil in the service of others. It also hides the true cost of things from the parasitical class, since the incompetent and poor who clamor for services do not end up paying these taxes directly.
